About Mrs. Gartrell
I am so excited to be part of the Excel Christian Academy family! Most importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures.
I was born in Illinois, but raised in Florida. I have a younger brother, Dylan, who works at the hospital. I also have two sisters-in-law, Jessica and Madison. Madison is in tenth grade and plays the cello, while Jessica loves to crochet and even has her own business making baby accessories.
I graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in education. I taught preschool while attending college, then went on to teach chorus and piano to middle and high school students. This will be my sixth year teaching, but my first year as a third grade teacher. I also was the children's choir director at my church and volunteer to teach music to the preschoolers at vacation bible school every year.
I am married to a wonderful man, Mr. Gartrell, who is crazy about golf! We have two adorable children together. My son, Brody, is two and a half and I have a new baby girl, Bella, who is only six months old. They are so sweet and surprise me every day with how much they are learning and growing. I'll really be missing my babies while I'm at school, so I'll need lots of love from you!
