Academic Standards

Academic Qualifications
Academically, students must be ready for the grade level for which the application was submitted. Determining variables may include testing of mental ability, reading level, math achievement, and review of grades in former schoolwork.

Student Qualifications
We admit students of any race, color, nationality and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to students at the school. Students receiving services from a Service Plan, 504, IEP, etc. should make a copy available to the school prior to admittance.  All new students are places on a 30 day probation period. ECA does not enroll students who have been dismissed from another school or who have had serious disciplinary issues in another school.

Health Qualifications
A doctor’s examination is necessary within one year prior to entrance and must be on file in the office. The blue HRS immunization certificate (or religious exemption) must be on file in the office prior to the first day of school, along with a birth certificate.

Preschool and Kindergarten
Students must be the appropriate age before September 1st to enter a specific class.

K2 must be 18 months on or before Sept. 1st in order to enter 2 yr old class
K3 must be 3 on or before Sept. 1st in order to enter 3 yr old class
K4 must be 4 on or before Sept. 1st in order to enter for K4 class or VPK program
K5 (Kindergarten) must be 5 on or before Sept. 1st to qualify to enter Kindergarten

For most families, visiting ECA is one of the most important factors in deciding if we are the right fit for your family. You may schedule a private tour by calling ECA at 863-853-9235. Potential elementary and secondary newcomers are encouraged to come and shadow a student for a day. Shadow dates can be set by calling the office as well.
