Character Corner

This week I want to talk about something that is very important to me, character. As a principal, it is something that I take on as personal challenge to help build good character in each on one of our students. Here are some things that you can do at home to help reinforce building character in your children.

Responsibility – Have your child list their responsibilities. Examples, “Do my homework.”, “Feed the dog.” Then, discuss the duties of others, such as teachers or policemen. Talk about what happens when responsibilities aren’t taken care of. What if the policeman decided not to direct traffic when the traffic light broke?

Independence – Teach your child a new skill, like how to fix their own lunch or lay out their clothes for school the next day. They will gain a sense of accomplishment when she doesn’t have to ask you for help.

Giving – Instead of buying gifts, encourage your child to give “tickets.” They can be good for things such as playing a game with a sibling or helping a parent with housework. They can draw the tickets on paper and decorate them with markers.

All of these things will help build the character in your children that we all wish to see!

In His Service,

Amy L. Kretzer

Hello Preschool Parents!

Please be sure to get your re-enrollment  packets in as soon as possible. If your packets are in by Feb.1st your name will be entered into a drawing for a free month of tuition. For K3 parents, as soon as I know about VPK certificates I will let you know.

As a reminder, Preschool and VPK will be CLOSED Monday, February 20th. There will be no care available that day.  Please remember if you ever need anything to do not hesitate to stop by the front office!

Blessings,

Ms. Bobbie

We have enjoyed having your child in our school this year! Thank you for entrusting your child into our care.

Often parents want to have their children continue with a private, Christian school education but are concerned about being able to pay for it. We wanted to make you aware of an exciting scholarship opportunity that you may qualify for. Step Up For Students is a tax credit scholarship available for students that are entering K5 or 1st grade (it is also available for students that have completed one year of public school). For more information about this scholarship, please visit www.stepupforstudents.org or call the hotline at:

1-877-735-7837.

A Christian education is a wonderful way to give your child a strong foundation both academically and spiritually.
